Once you've signed in, follow the instructions at the top of your order details to activate your phone. New individual service plan customers: • Turn on your phone. Can you buy a used Verizon Wireless phone from a friend or from Craigslist, eBay, etc., then activate and use it on the Verizon Wireless network? I emailed Verizon Wireless, and here’s the answer straight from Verizon Wireless Customer Service: Yes, a previously used Verizon Wireless device can be activated on your account, provided the model phone in question originally met E-911 requirements. Although a wireless device may be compatible with our network, we cannot guarantee the equipment’s performance, nor can we honor the manufacturer’s warranty on wireless devices not purchased through Verizon Wireless or one of our authorized agents. You have the following options for activating a different wireless device on your number: • Dial *228 (Send) and press option 1, when prompted, from the device you want to activate and listen for further instructions. Please ensure the wireless device you wish to deactivate is powered off. • Sign in to “My Verizon” using your Account Owner user ID and password and select the “Account” tab at the top of the page and click on “Activate Phone” from the “Account Actions” section located on the right side of the page.
